Bella is the new girl in town. She became a mermaid in the sea caves of Ireland when she was ten. Bella is a great singer and provides a musical element to the show.

CLEO played by Phoebe Tonkin

Cleo has the power to mould water into a different shape, and she later develops the ability to control wind.

She’s quite shy, but a very loyal friend.

RIKKI played by Cariba Heine

Rikki's special power allows her to boil water or anything with water in it. She's not very outgoing, and is quite a rebel, but is always there for her friends.

ZANE played by Burgess Abernethy

He's the bad boy in town and Rikki’s love interest. Good looking, spoilt and rich and he'll do everything he can to find out what's really going on with new boy Will.

WILL played by Luke Mitchell

Will is the new boy in town. The girls find him unconcious on the floor of the mysterious Mako Cave. When he finally wakes up, he reveals that he also has unusual watery talents.

It‟s nearly the end of the holidays and Cleo and Rikki are about to face their last year of high school without Emma, who has gone overseas. Together with Lewis, they‟re confident they know everything there is to know about Mako Island. But when water attacks the girls on a full moon, they realise a new, potentially dangerous force is developing on the mysterious island, and a boy with freakish free-diving skills who stumbles upon the Moon Pool could hold the key to understanding the powerful energy...

Thankfully they find an ally in Bella, a new girl in town who reveals an equally surprising twist: she too is a mermaid with extraordinary super powers. Together, the new trio face phenomenal challenges as they discover the dark secrets of Mako Island and realise their destiny as mermaids.
